(National, Bi -Annual, Bilingual, Interdisciplinary, Peer-Reviewed, Open Access, Online Journal)
The Vimarshodgam Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (VIMJINS) has been conceived as a catalyst for enhancing the interdisciplinary knowledge in the area of social sciences. The journal aims to provide platform for wider dissemination of original, creative & scholarly work by academicians, industry professionals and practitioners from management and allied fields. It also strives to encourage researchers to examine issues and concerns, peculiar to hilly regions like Uttarakhand, which are hitherto largely unexplored. By providing a venue for publishing such work, the journal aspires to play a role in development of such regions.
The current issue is an honest effort at meeting these objectives. In addition, the articles in this inaugural edition draw heavily from the issues related to the contemporary world. This inaugural issue showcases variety of contributions and features research work, case study, commentaries on topical developments, a book review and an interview.
We, in the editorial team, would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our Consultant Editors/ Advisory Board for their guidance in bringing out this issue. We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of the members of the Reviewers’ Panel who, despite their busy schedules, have scrutinized the manuscripts and provided constructive suggestions to enhance their quality. The contributors to this issue also deserve our heartfelt thanks for having expressed their faith in this publication by sharing their research for this inaugural issue. The journal team shall also be indebted to Professor (Dr) Shekhar Chandra Joshi (Fine Arts), Almora Campus, Kumaun University for having kindly designed the journal-logo. We are also grateful to Dr Deepak Kumar, Assistant Professor (Botany) at LSMGPGC, Pithoragarh who volunteered to provide us plagiarism-check services. This journal could not have seen the light of the day but for the collective efforts of all the aforementioned. Credit is also due to the management at the Laxman Singh Mahar Government PG College, Pithoragarh for the financial assistance in bringing out this inaugural issue.
To conclude, any journal is as good as its content; and improving the quality of the content is not possible without ruthlessly honest feedback of its readers. Now that the first issue of the journal is in your hands, we eagerly look forward to a bagful of such critical comments from each one of you so that we may raise the bar further in the forthcoming issue.
